Fashion-lovers step out for new season international designers collection

A host of fashion-lovers stepped out to the Designer Rooms at Brown Thomas Dublin this week for the unveiling of the new season international designers collection.

More than 20 international collections, ranging from Balenciaga, Celine, Helmut Lang, Hermes and Lanvin to Jason Wu, Giambattista Valli and Vionnet, were curated by Brown Thomas fashion director Shelly Corkery on Wednesday night at their Grafton Street store.

Guests included Lorraine Keane, Off the Rails presenters Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, TV3's Debbie O'Donnell, Clodagh Hopkins, May Frisbee, Ian Galvin and Elaine Bennett.

Topping the list of females every guy would like to cuddle up to this February 14 is aspiring actress Caroline Morahan, while Hollywood hunk Colin Farrell has beaten off stiff competition to take on the title of hunkiest male.

The survey was carried out by 11850, an independent directory inquiry service, with RTE newsreader Sharon Ni Bheolain and model Rosanna Davison, as well as rugby beau Rob Kearney, all making the list.

  • The Marie Keating Foundation is aiming to break a world record on St Patrick's Day by having the most people ever take part in an 80-metre stiletto heel dash. The event will be part of the St Patrick's Festival pre-parade entertainment at 11.15am.

Apprentice star Breffny Morgan will also be on hand to give tips to those who want to woo their loved one this weekend while The Chakras will play some romantic tunes.

Meanwhile, Ryan Tubridy will be joined by Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson tonight ahead, of his appearance at a special Valentine's benefit. The event takes place at the O'Reilly Hall in University College Dublin tomorrow night in aid of Irish Autism Action's Night of Love.
