A fan who unleashed his crude fantasies about Ashanti in a battery of text messages and photographs to the R&B singer's mother has been jailed for two years in the United States.
Devar Hurd, 31, was sentenced in a Manhattan court. He was convicted in December of stalking and other charges and has already served about eight months while awaiting trial and sentencing.
The Grammy Award-winning singer's mother, Tina Douglas, said she was alarmed and disgusted by the messages. They included photos of Hurd's genitals and of the Douglas family's Long Island home.
Hurd said the messages were intended as friendly banter and jokes.
