EastEnders star Laurie Brett said her boyfriend's dreadful taste in music was the reason she was so "calm" giving birth to her baby daughter.
The actress, who plays Jane Beale in the soap, gave birth to her first child, Erin Anne Millie Brett, in a private London hospital.
The 42-year-old had planned to listen to music on her iPod during the labour but forgot it and was forced to listen to her boyfriend Johnny Milroy's collection of Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet tracks instead.
"I think that's why I was so calm, because I was lying there thinking 'What is that?'," she said.
Brett, who is on maternity leave from Albert Square, said it was her boyfriend's idea for their daughter to take her surname. She said: "I was not fussed, but Johnny said 'I think Erin Brett is such a strong name'."
She said the couple were both "ecstatic".
