Dublin’s got the X Factor

LOUIS Walsh is hoping he'll find another Jedward from the Irish X Factor auditions.

The Westlife manager has revealed he's super confident that at least one of the acts has a big future and will definitely go through to the next round.

"It was a long day of filming but it is just great to have the auditions back in Ireland," he told the Herald.

"I can't say too much about what went on but there was some good talent and I think it will really put it up to the UK contestants. It would be great to find another act as successful as Jedward."

However, he added that there were also plenty of crazy people in attendance at the auditions at the National Convention Centre auditions on Spencer Dock.

SKIMPY

"Those always seems to do well though," he quipped.

"Thankfully, there were some great bands and I think there is a good chance that we can get a good group.

"The other judges had a good time and it is always great to prove Simon wrong with some top Irish talent."

Pop princess Katy Perry jetted into Ireland specially to help judge the fame seekers as she stood in for pregnant Dannii Minogue.

The star, whose fiance Russell Brand was here last week, turned up at the auditions with fellow judge Cheryl Cole, with the pair met by screaming crowds at the venue.

Wearing a skimpy silver mini-dress and purple stilettos, she was clearly excited about the day-long filming session. She wrote on her Twitter account: "X FACTOR DUBLIN!!! Can't wait to spot a star!!!"

Producers of the hit series have not held an Irish audition since 2006 after Simon Cowell alleged there wasn't enough talent here. Throngs of Irish hopefuls turned up in force in a bid to prove him wrong.

And one act in particular managed to impress both Katy and Cheryl with his impressive pecs.

An insider revealed how a hunky lifeguard named Stephen came out on stage to perform Elton John's Your Song for the judges.

But before he had even started his tune, flirty Katy asked the guy to take off his shirt, to which he replied: "I will if I get through." He then started his performance, making his way down from the stage, to Cheryl Cole, where he proceeded to hold her hand and sing directly to the newly single star. After charming both gorgeous ladies, they decided to send him through to the bootcamp stages of the competition, as did Louis despite Simon voting against.
