Every girl wants to be a princess and now Dubliner Hannah Osbourne is the lucky lady to slip on the tiara.

Hannah will play Princess Melisande in Pirates in the Kingdom of Enchantasia at the Smock Alley Theatre.

Hannah (24) who studied drama at DIT is delighted at the opportunity to play such a fun character and dress up as a princess.

"It's been amazing to land this role and the costumes are just incredible," she told the Diary.

"It's the first play I've done for children so I'm really excited about it, especially as it's Christmas.

Pirates in the Kingdom of Enchantasia is described as an adventure for all the family that sees Captain Swashbuckle, the dreaded pirate, and his fearsome first mate Sebastian land in the Kingdom of Enchantasia.

Bad things happen when they sneak into the palace, and there's everything from good wizards to evil witches and kidnapped princesses in this play which runs at the Temple Bar theatre from December 27 until January 4.

Hannah said that she hopes the role with Ofegus Theatre Company will lead to more opportunities.
