Disney dream for Kathryn

RTE kid's TV presenter Kathryn McKiernan is set to step into the shoes of Ugly Betty's Vanessa Williams tonight when she takes centre stage in a Disney special called Dreams Come True.

The young Dubliner, who fronts Kazoo five days a week on The Den, left colleagues including Brian Ormond and Rob Ross of Ice fame in the shade when she was approached by Disney executives to make a special Irish version of the US documentary-style programme.

Viewers young and old will tune in this evening to see the presenter interact with showbiz greats including Whoopi Goldberg, Miley Cyrus, Ne-Yo, Serena Williams and Sigourney Weaver, as they discuss their favourite Disney moments.

But while innovative editing and technologically enhanced links will make it look as if Kathryn was right there in the room with the likes of Elton John, the Rathcoole native says it is all a clever illusion.

Disney: Dreams Come True will air today on RTE Two at 5.10pm.
