Delta denies cheating on Brian with mystery friend in Los Angeles

NEWLY single Delta Goodrem has denied there was a third party involved in her break-up with ex-fiance Brian McFadden.

The singer revealed that she and the former Westlife star still "talk every day" and insisted that the break-up was "entirely mutual".

The high-profile couple split earlier this month after a seven-year relationship.

But Delta is at the centre of a storm in Australia, with rumours swirling that there may have been a third party behind their break-up.

The Aussie singer has been laying down tracks for a new album in Los Angeles for the past number of months, and sources have said that she has become increasingly close to a new male friend, who works in music production.

Although the identity of the mystery man is still unknown, the couple's representative insists that there is no truth to the reports.

"We would appreciate it if everyone could respect the couple's time together and not bring up hurtful rumours. The rumour is completely fabricated," their spokesperson said.

However, pals have suggested that it was a combination of the long distance, Brian's increasingly erratic behaviour of late, and her burgeoning friendship with a mystery pal that contributed to them calling off their engagement.

"She's been spending a lot of time with her new circle of friends in LA and has realised that she really hasn't been missing Brian for a while," a source revealed.

"She's been lonely and then there has been her new friendship."

Delta was snapped happily waving to photographers as she walked into a recording studio in Los Angeles yesterday.

And the blonde beauty finally broke her silence on the split, saying: "Yes the split was absolutely mutual. We are still good friends. We talk every day."

When pressed to reveal what had caused their break-up, she said: "I can't go there but we are doing well together."
