Chris coming home for new series...and nuptials

ACTOR Chris O'Dowd is coming back to Ireland this summer to film the second series of his comedy programme Moone Boy during the same month as his wedding, the Diary can reveal.

The star of Bridesmaids and The IT Crowd is over the moon after his new comedy series was given the green light for a second season by Sky 1 -- before the first series has even aired.

Clearly he has the Midas touch at the moment, with all his recent success.

The show has been described as semi-autobiographical, as it's set in a small rural town in 1989 and follows the exploits of Martin (11) and his imaginary friend, played by O'Dowd (32), and filmed in his home town of Boyle, Co Roscommon.

Speaking about his delight, he said: "Thanks for all the Moone Boy congrats. Just have to write the bloody thing now."

He's also flying high in his personal life, having got engaged last year to long-term partner Dawn Porter and the pair will walk down the aisle this August.

They first met in LA after the writer and TV presenter met him at her 30th birthday bash.
