ONLY Cheryl Cole could emerge from a bout of malaria looking gorgeous.
The X Factor judge (27) stepped out in her first public outing since being diagnosed with the illness and still managed to stun onlookers with her appearance.
The star was spotted popping out for a cup of coffee and walking her dogs yesterday -- in a sign that she is well and truly on the road to recovery and finally ready to get back to work.
After contracting the potentially fatal disease on a whirlwind trip to South Africa with close pal Derek Hough, the star went into hiding as she battled to recover.
She reportedly lost half a stone as she recovered in her €6m Surrey home, which she once shared with estranged husband Ashley Cole.
But these pictures show she is finally back on her feet, and according to friends, she wanted to show that the rumours about her weight loss and frail condition weren't true.
Sporting a loose white top and jeans, the singer was still glowing -- even while wearing hardly any make up. And the latest shots will undoubtedly be welcome news for her legion of fans, who have been waiting with baited breath for updates as she battled the illness.
Cheryl shied away from all media attention as she was holed up in her plush pad, and a spokesperson for the songstress said she will still need another few weeks to recover.
But that hasn't stopped her from planning her much anticipated return to screens.
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has temporarily taken over her post as judge on the hit reality show but Cheryl is reportedly dying to get back to work.
A source close to the star revealed: "Cheryl has been itching to get out of the house for days. She has been going stir crazy but is under doctors' orders not to push herself too hard, too soon.
"She is getting better by the day and finally felt ready and able to take her dogs Cocoa and Buster for a leisurely walk.
"Cheryl also wanted to show the world she is not dangerously thin.
"She cannot go to the gym yet, but she is back writing songs and material for her solo career," the source added.
