Charity prize is just the ticket for Pippa

STAR couple Pippa O'Connor and Brian Ormond rounded off a weekend of socialising with a trip to the gee-gees at Leopardstown racecourse.

The soon-to-be newlyweds were among the big names who attended a VIP lunch event at the South Dublin racecourse yesterday to support Breast Cancer Ireland's annual RCSI 'race against breast cancer' day.

And the loved-up couple had plenty to celebrate after scooping one of the top raffle prizes at Nicky Byrne's charity ball in Citywest the previous night.

Lucky Pippa (26) explained how she and her hubby-to-be bagged two tickets to a number of upcoming concerts in Dublin including The Script, Westlife and Katy Perry.

Also included were two tickets to Take That's much anticipated concert at Croke Park on June 18.

However, the top model and her TV presenter beau will not be able attend the event, given that it clashes with their wedding day.

The couple are due to host a star-studded reception at the exclusive Ritz Carlton hotel in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.

Yesterday, they had the chance to catch up with Pippa's former co-star on TV3's Celebrity Salon, Virginia Macari, who was at the races alongside her mother, Clara.

Other well-known names enjoying a flutter included top model Sarah McGoven, Xpose's Aisling O'Loughlin, Anna Daly and a heavily pregnant Colette Fitzpatrick, who is due to give birth later this month. The exclusive event is now in its fifth year, with yesterday's festivities raising more than €150,000, which will go towards funding vital breast cancer research.
