Celebs get in the mood with spa breaks and rom-coms

SECLUDED spa breaks or a low-key night in with a takeaway -- some of Ireland's top celebrities are ready to get romantic this Valentine's Day.

Xpose presenters Karen Koster and Lisa Cannon have enjoyed a busy few days to get them in the perfect mood for love this weekend.

Karen told the Herald the star-studded premier of the Valentine's Day movie in London has left her longing for a cosy evening in with her RTE property guru boyfriend John McGuire.

"We're going stay in with a Chinese takeaway and a good old rom-com.

"John said I can pick it so I'm going to take advantage of that rare opportunity and watch Couples Retreat. This has been one of the busiest weeks Xpose has ever had, what with the launch of Xpose Live, which is on in the RDS from April 9 to 11, so I'm just really looking forward to chilling out."

Chocolates

Fresh off the plane from Paris, Lisa has planned a lavish evening with her boyfriend Sean. "We're going to stay in Barberstown Castle. I'm just back from Paris so I got him a nice present there, some pink Moet champagne and gorgeous chocolates."

Newly engaged Lisa Murphy is jetting off to Miami today with solicitor partner Gerald Kean. The couple are making this year extra special with a luxury Caribbean cruise.

"We're really looking forward to it and he said he has an extra surprise for me as well so I'm sure it will be wonderful because he's very romantic. We are very into romance so anyone would be sick looking at us," she said.

Sean Munsanje is heading to Cork with his boyfriend of six years Chris Doyle, CEO of Dublin's 98fm. "We're going to a remote spa and hotel in Cork. We spent the first few years buying presents for each other but now we prefer to go away somewhere nice together."

New No Frontiers presenter Jenny Buckley is going on a double date with her husband and friends. "I love Valentine's Day and I'm a total romantic so I definitely love to get a card and a few flowers would be great too."

Luxurious

Newly married RTE star Laura Woods is going for a luxurious long lunch in her favourite restaurant with husband Mark Arigho.

Top model Rosanna Davison is planning a low-key evening in with a takeaway with her beau Wesley Quirke, while Baz Ashmawy is going to cook dinner for his lady Tanya Evans.
