IRISH teen Janet Devlin is safely through to the next round of the X Factor after boyband Nu Vibe became the first act this year to fall victim to the public vote.
The five-piece band, put together by judge Tulisa having entered the contest as solo artists, sang a dance version of U2's With Or Without You on Saturday night's show -- but that wasn't enough to ensure their survival.
They ended up in the bottom two of the 12 acts, with Frankie Cocozza, after judge Gary Barlow told them their lacklustre performance had "no vibe".
Mentor Tulisa was the only one who wanted to keep them in the competition after they sang for survival. She appeared tearful after the voting session, and asked by host Dermot O'Leary why they had not won enough votes, replied: "I'm not sure. All I can say is that I believed in them."
Tyrone teenager Janet, who bravely took to the stage while mourning her grandfather, was the second act to learn she was through to the next round.
