'Blonde assassin' gets the TV chop in Apprentice food fight

APPRENTICE hopeful Katie Wright is the latest candidate to be given the chop after making a dog's dinner of a gourmet street-food task.

The 'blonde assassin' (26) ended up in Alan Sugar's boardroom for the third time when she failed to make a killing selling Italian fare to football fans and tourists during a trip to Edinburgh.

Wright, who dressed as a giant pizza in a bid to boost sales for her team, insisted team leader Adam Corbally should have been the one to be sent home.

"I just don't think he ran the task very well and he didn't understand what the task was about," she said.

"I'm really, really gutted and I don't think it was fair.

But based on the process as a whole, I can see that Lord Sugar might just have been a bit sick and tired of seeing my face in the bottom three."

She added: "I just wish I didn't get fired in a pizza costume. I have better outfits I could have worn."

After struggling to sell their premium-priced meatballs outside Hearts FC's football stadium, Wright's Team Phoenix attempted to lure sightseers off tour buses instead.

Their £298 (¤364) profit wasn't enough however to beat rivals Sterling who brought in £320 (¤391) from their Scottish casserole.

Wright was shocked her team's gourmet food didn't find fans.

"I genuinely, stupidly thought we were going to sell all our meatballs and we would have the afternoon off," she said.
