IRISH fans went 'Gaga' for Justin Bieber at the MTV EMA's as the Baby singer was ordered to take a paternity test in the US.
His trip to Belfast for last night's European Music Awards has been marred by claims that he fathered a child with a woman called Mariah Yeater.
As the chaos behind the scenes loomed, the 17-year-old used his Irish visit to prove that his romance with Selena Gomez is still on track.
He opted to send out a very clear signal last night about his relationship with gorgeous Selena (19), who hosted the whole show.
The Herald can reveal how the cute couple were "all over each other" at the after-show party.
It comes after reports today that he has been ordered to take a DNA test when he returns to the States in a bid to clear his name in the paternity suit.
And he's obviously keen to show his relationship with Selena is still strong despite Yeater's allegations that he's the father of her four-month-old son Tristan.
Justin and Selena, and superstar Lady Gaga, rubbed shoulders with stars Katy Perry, Jesse J and David Hasselhoff as they enjoyed the VIP party.
While throngs of 'Beliebers' were waiting outside hoping to catch a glimpse of the star, he was cuddling up with his singer girlfriend inside.
"They were very lovey-dovey with each other and left no-one in any doubt that they're just as strong as before. At one stage she was sitting on his lap and they were kissing," said a source.
"They were obviously sending out a signal that their romance hasn't been damaged in the least by the allegations. In fact, it has only made them stronger."
Earlier in the night, the Canadian superstar picked up two awards including Best Pop Act and Best male at the celeb-filled bash at the Odyssey Arena last night.
But the star pulled out of interviews with the media amid fears he would be quizzed about Yeater's claims.
"It's all anyone was talking about up in Belfast all weekend. People are desperate to know what's really going on and he just got fed up talking about it and pulled all interviews," the source continued.
Selena, who hosted last night's event with a dizzying array of costume changes, also followed suit.
Her management team allowed her to be very briefly interviewed ahead of the bash, on the condition that no-one asked her about Yeater's claims.
It wasn't all bad news for her pint-sized boyfriend though after Bieber went home with two gongs.
He referred to the controversy in his acceptance speech, saying: "There's been a lot of crap on the internet lately."
Meanwhile, organisers of the music event were sighing a massive sigh of relief after the event went off without a hitch.
Security had been tight in the run up to the event amid a possible threat that dissidents could try and sabotage it.
Bringing 20,000 people to the city and worth an estimated €10m to the local economy, Belfast was last night thronged with revellers.
Lady Gaga stole the show with a typically spectacular performance. She picked up four awards and collected her Best Female gong from David Hasselhoff while wearing a silver cone dress. But she was almost upstaged at one point by a male streaker who leapt on stage while Hayden Panettiere was announcing an act.
LMFAO got everyone on their feet for their performance, as did Bruno Mars, who picked up the gong for the Best New Act.
Other winners included Katy Perry for Best Live Act ahead of her concert in Dublin tonight and Queen, for global icon.
Pop princess Perry was flying solo at last night's event, where there was no sign of her hubbie Russell Brand and she spent most of the after-show partying with new pal Jesse J.
