MISS Ireland finalist Niamh Geaney has kickstarted her presenting career after landing a gig on Kildare TV and 98FM.
However, the current Miss Kerry says she won't stop until she's on national TV.
After working behind the scenes on shows such as The Apprentice, model Niamh (23) finally decided it was time to step in front of the camera.
"I've wanted to be a presenter longer than I wanted to do Miss Ireland. I was working in TV straight after college, I worked behind the scenes on programmes like The Apprentice and Fame The Musical. I worked as a camera operator, a researcher, an editor, I did a bit of everything," she said.
"Being behind the scenes I got a taste of how everything worked and I realised I wanted to be in front of the camera, so I did a presenting course.
"I'm so happy to be working for Kildare TV, I literally just rang them up and sent them my showreel and they liked me. I'm also presenting a music show called The Best Kept Secret, which is coming out in late October, it's going to be online and BCTV. I'll be exploring the Irish music scene and up and coming bands. Plus I just joined the Thunder Crew on 98FM so I'm doing a bit of everything," she said.
The DCU graduate said she was hoping to land a position on TG4 or TV3 this year.
"My goal for the next year is to be on TV. I'm going to try and do it in Ireland but I am realistic. If it doesn't happen here, I will definitely move to England," she said.
