MODEL Niamh Walsh has kicked her footballer beau Steven Taylor to the kerb after the Newcastle defender was caught up in an alleged training ground bust-up this week.
The Diary can reveal the pair, who commuted between their homes in Britain and Dublin for almost six months to spend time together, have now gone their separate ways.
Niamh (22), who prefers to be known as Nemo, explained how she was due to jet over to Newcastle earlier this week to see the former England U-21 captain, but put her plans on ice when he hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Taylor (24) was reported to have broken his jaw following a brawl with his team-mate Andy Carroll.
Steven, a native of Greenwich, London, has been laid up with a knee injury since January and had just returned to training this month.
"I don't want to say too much about it, but needless to say we're not together now," she said when contacted by the Diary. "I was meant to be going to Newcastle during the week but I decided to cancel it when I heard the news.
"I'm not too upset about it, it was only a bit of fun at the end of the day. You can't dwell too much on it."
Steven, whom the model first met during a night out in Krystle nightclub last year, is not the first sportsman to have caught her eye since she burst onto the showbiz scene two years ago. The former Miss Ireland contestant has previously been linked to Olympic medallist Kenny Egan, whom she met through their late friend, Darren Sutherland.
Their relationship failed to get off the ground however, with the Clondalkin boxer explaining that he was determined to concentrate on his career instead of his love-life.
Following her most recent break-up, the leggy beauty has now vowed that her next romance won't be with a sportsman. In fact, she is said to already have another suitor lined up in the form of fellow model Mark Andrew Adams.
The pair are both signed to Assets modelling agency and share a number of mutual friends in the fashion industry.
The two joined a group of pals last Sunday night to attend the 50 Cent gig at the O2 and later partied alongside the rapper at the Wright Venue.
"It was a brilliant night. There was a big gang of us out and we were upstairs in the Scarface Suite hanging out with 50 Cent and all his security guys after his DJ set," said Niamh.
