Andrea moves pageant out of ex-hubby's family hotel

THE marriage is over and now Andrea Roche is moving a major event from the former family fold.

The 32-year-old former Mrs Mansfield has taken her exclusive Miss Universe Ireland beauty pageant away from CityWest "for obvious reasons".

Signalling that all hopes of a reconciliation between herself and estranged hubby, PJ Mansfield, can be put to rest, Andrea told the Herald that she is searching for a new venue to stage the event.

But she insisted that the "show will go on" to find a finalist for the global event, which involves billionaire Donald Trump.

"It definitely won't be happening at CityWest and that's for obvious reasons," revealed a candid Andrea.

"It's good to freshen things up and I'm looking forward to staging it in a new venue and bringing a new twist to it.

"Things can get stale if you keep following the same format so this will push the contest to a new level," she added.

And Andrea is confident that the competition, won last year by Diana Donnelly, will pack just as much punch as previous years as she immerses herself in the clash of the beauties.

"It's going to be a great event, there's a lot of excitement about it and I'm sure we'll get a great response when we launch the heats shortly.

"There are loads of good prizes for the winner and they'll go on to compete in the international final," she continued.

The Tipperary native has been keeping a low profile for the past few months since confirming news of her split from PJ last March. She has repeatedly turned down big-money offers from magazines and newspapers to talk about the split, describing it as a "private matter".

The pair had separated a few months prior to that but had managed to keep the news private for a while as they came to terms with the break-up.

Former Miss Ireland Andrea is now enjoying a new romance with Killiney businessman Rob White.
