Ambitious Grainne sets sights on landing project with Cowell

GRAINNE Seoige (38) has admitted that her dream for 2011 is to work with music mogul Simon Cowell.

The TV star may have had a busy 2010 with a move to the UK but she's revealed she has no intention of resting on her laurels this year.

Instead, the Galwegian has set her sights on the most powerful man in showbusiness.

"If I could work with anybody this year, I would have to say Simon Cowell. We both already work for ITV and he is part of some of the most exciting shows on either side of the Atlantic," she said.

The presenter was looking out of this world on ITV's Daybreak this week -- after donning an alien mask.

The Features Editor and RTE presenter showed she wasn't afraid to poke fun at herself by putting on a rubber mask with weather presenter pal Lucy Verasamy as the pair posed for a pic (inset below).

Their Daybreak colleague Steve Hargrave joked: "Aliens have landed in the Daybreak dressing room! They do look suspiciously like Lucy and Grainne Seoige."

The Galway Gaeilgeoir has really stamped her mark on the early morning programme fronted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley since starting her high-profile job last July.

Although it got off to a shaky start amid falling ratings and mixed reviews, it appears to have regained popularity among viewers of the revamped live show.

Grainne is commuting between London and Dublin every week as she continues to present the All Ireland Talent Show for RTE every Sunday night. She'll be spending the next four weeks double-jobbing as she divides her time between the two stations, until the final on March 13.
