Ahoy! Georgia joins rum rumpus on deck

A SELECT crew of landlubbers have been invited to help kickstart the festive season on board the Jeanie Johnston.

Being hosted by Captain Morgan, model Georgia Salpa, inset, will be leading the troops to the vessel docked in the IFSC with the bash on November 14 guaranteed to pull in a raucous group.

Organisers will be turning on the Christmas lights on the ship while promising lots of live music, prizes and of course a drop of rum from the treasure chest.

THERE'S not one but two beer-filled events taking place in Dublin next week as the party season gets off to a gentle start.

First up it's the turn of the Porterhouse which has organised the launch of the Czech Beer Festival on November 14. Doing the honours at the event will be the Czech ambassador himself, Tomas Karka, as he helps get the party started.

Meanwhile on November 13, there's another booze-filled bash happening in 4 Dame Lane.

A number of beer experts have been invited to host a special tasting night, featuring a selection of beers from around the world.

THE red carpet will be rolled out later this month for Trinity College Dublin's Samsung fashion show. Held in the scene winter garden of the National Gallery of Ireland, the theme of this year's event is "dark romance" which will draw inspiration from this year's key Winter catwalk trends including gothic and lace with plenty of baroque.

Irish milliner Edel Ramberg will be providing the headpieces at the November 26 event.

EXPECTANT mum Pippa O'Connor takes centre stage tomorrow at an apt launch.

She'll be doing the honours at Saturday's Mount Camel Maternity Hospital as she helps officially open their recently upgraded Special Care Baby Unit.

Earlier this week she turned on the smiles for the cameras alongside hubbie Brian Ormond.

The well-known beauty, who's four months pregnant, was out at Dundrum Town Centre as she helped to launch Cortinas restaurant launch its new Movember supper club, which takes place every Thursday.
