Aoibhinn McGinnity stars in music video

Love/Hate actress Aoibhinn McGinnity is certainly expanding her repertoire.

Not only is she starring in Elf: The Musical at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre this Christmas, she's now also featuring in an Irish band's music video.

Aoibhinn (28) appears in the video for Irish Folk band Tupelo's new single Yesterday's News.

The video, which hangs on a tragic storyline of a woman who has lost her one true love, follows a dark, tragic but ultimately uplifting storyline.

The Monaghan beauty, who plays Nidge's long-suffering wife Trish on the hit TV series, takes on the lead role in the video for the latest single from Tupelo's album Push On.

She plays a very upset and tortured woman in the clip, which follows the emotional turmoil of her character as she deals with the loss of her partner.

The video has so far been hailed as "beautiful" and "deeply charming" by Irish music critics.

The song itself also features another Irish star, singer-songwriter Eleanor McEvoy, who is known for her hit song Only a Woman's Heart.
