Emma's frantic dash home for beau's big day
MISS Ireland Emma Waldron frantically dashed from China to Ireland just hours after the Miss World contest ended to attend her boyfriend's graduation ceremony.
Instead of celebrating her fourth-place finish, Emma (21) packed her bags and arrived home less than 24 hours later before going to the ceremony in DCU.
She made it just in time to attend her other half's graduation with a masters in Telecommunication Engineering from DCU.
Emma's parents, meanwhile, who travelled with their daughter to China for the pageant, chose to stay on for a mini holiday.
"My boyfriend has been very supportive," she told the Herald.
"He couldn't come over for the actual ceremony as he was due to graduate the following Monday after it was finished.
"I got back early that morning so I was able to go along."
