Ektihaam can end Power surge at 7/2

Nine two-year-old colts will contest the showpiece, the Dewhurst, as they try and follow in the path of last year's winner Frankel, with Aidan O'Brien's Power and Jim Bolger's Parish Hall the Irish representatives.

Power is a current 3/1 shot. That may seem a big price following the running of this race if he goes and wins, but an argument could be made that our juveniles could be a shade behind the British ones at this stage of the season and a chance is taken on 7/2 shot Ektihaam.

Roger Varian trains the two-time winner for Hamdan Al Maktoum and, although he has a bit of improving to do if he is to progress and win here, he may be just worth taking a shot on.

The betting on the historic Cesarewitch says all you need to know about it and how competitive a race it's going to be. Veiled was 10/1 favourite, but if you can make a case for Tony Martin's Buy Back Bob, make sure you take some of the 14/1, as he is likely to be well-backed.

Dermot Weld isn't sending over Rainforest Magic for the fresh air, though, and at 12/1 he would look a more appealing each-way prospect, while one at over twice those odds that is worth a fiver each-way is Mark Johnston's Colour Vision at 25/1.

Proceedings at Newmarket get underway with the Challenge Stakes and the bet of the day is Strong Suit at even money for Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes.

Meanwhile, at Limerick on Sunday, the Munster National is the highlight and, despite the burden of top weight, For Bill should see her class prevail and run well at around 9/1, while Muirhead is another to keep on the right side of.
