EBS raises home rate
EBS Building Society has admitted its subsidiary will raise mortgage rates for new customers just before Christmas. The division, Haven Mortgages, announced a hike in the standard variable rate for mortgages on Thursday.
It's expected that this could add as much as €32 per month to the cost of a €300,000 mortgage. Other lenders are expected to impose hikes in standard variable rate and fixed-rate mortgages.
