E-voting so foolish, says Owen

EX-minister Nora Owen has bid the electronic voting machines a glad farewell by saying "good riddance to bad rubbish".
The former Fine Gael politician told the Herald yesterday that the machines, which cost the taxpayer ¤55m 10 years ago, were a "foolish investment".
The former Minister for Justice, who is now host of TV3's Celebrity Mastermind, said she won't shed any tears now that they've been sold for €70,000.
"My reaction is immediately good riddance. I'm disappointed obviously that the government get so little back on it since it cost ¤55m to buy them."
"I'm not wiping any tears and I'm delighted that they got rid of them. The danger was that someone in the future was going to dust them off and use them again."
