Singer Susan McFadden readily admits that she would love to perform in the West End again, but prefers the stability of Celtic Woman.

Susan previously played Sandy in Grease and starred as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde on the London stage.

"I'm at that stage in my life where I'm really happy in Celtic Woman," she told the Diary.

"I come from a musical theatre background where you do the same show day in day out for a year and it got a little bit monotonous, whereas in Celtic Woman it's the same job but it's a different show every time.

"It's a safe place and I'm really enjoying the security of it. I definitely would love to go back and do some more musical theatre in the future but I'm happy where I am now," she added.

Being on tour can be tough going and Susan makes sure to look after her health by working out with bandmate Mairead Carlin.

"Mairead and I are gym buddies, we try and go to the gym most days when we're on tour - you do find that it's good for your mind when you work out," Susan said.

"I really have to mind myself when we're in America because the air conditioning affects your voice and your skin so I make sure to moisturise all the time."
