Former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh has revealed she would love to pursue a career in broadcasting.

The Tipperary native is currently signed to the Andrea Roche Model Agency and has had a busy few months.

"I would love to do TV or radio. I did a little cameo appearance last summer in Damo & Ivor and I absolutely loved it," she told the Diary.

"It was just a lot of fun. A lot of people actually have said to me that I'm well suited to TV so it's something that I would love to get into in the future if the opportunity arose.

"I'm really busy with modelling at the moment, which is a great complaint to have.

"My year as Miss Ireland was amazing so fingers crossed other opportunities will come along," she added.

Aoife (25) has just been selected to front the launch of the new Guinness and Newbridge Silverware designer collection.

"It's such an honour, I feel really privileged to be the face of this collection by two of Ireland's iconic brands, I'm thrilled," she said.

"It's definitely the highlight of my career so far, it's the first campaign I've fronted and I feel so lucky that I get to do it with such well-known brands, not only in Ireland but abroad as well.

"I hope to be a good ambassador. Obviously with my Irish colouring with the red hair, it was the perfect fit and the jewellery is absolutely stunning."

She is in good company as Irish rugby player Rob Kearney, who is involved in the Newbridge Silverware's menswear collection, and actress Amy Huberman and model Roz Purcell have also fronted campaigns for the brand.

"It's amazing to be in such good company, Rob is like my Newbridge husband," Aoife joked.

The collaboration has been in the works for three years and the collection includes stunning jewellery, stylish-yet-practical homeware, as well as desirable decorations.

Last night the collection was launched in the beautiful and iconic surroundings of the Gravity Bar at the Guinness Storehouse.

Aoife and fellow top model Sarah Morrissey modelled the new designs while guests enjoyed the stunning view of the Dublin skyline.

Alan Hughes, Aoibheann McCaul, Aoibhin Garrihy, Barry McCall, Anne Doyle and Sean Munsanje turned out in style to celebrate the collaboration.
