Other top music stars on the line-up include AC/DC, Florence and the Machine, Ryan Adams, Interpol and Drake.

The Bray native tweeted his delight at playing the festival writing: "Really looking forward to Coachella this April. Incredible line-up".

The Take Me To Church singer has had a good start to 2015 as he has also been named on Forbes magazine's Top 30 Under 30 list.

Andrew Hozier Byrne said that he knew he wanted to be a musician from the age of 12, and attributed his success to his fierce "determination".

"In 2015, I will continue touring, studio time will be scarce but would love the possibility of finishing/releasing more music," he said.
