Dublin hurlers on triple bill at Thurles

Frank Roche

THE Dublin hurlers will be the sandwich in the middle of a Semple Stadium triple-header next Saturday.

Their All-Ireland qualifier against Limerick has been fixed for 5pm in Thurles, preceded by the Tipperary/Louth football qualifier (2.45) and followed by the Clare/Cork 'back door' hurling showdown (7.0).

The two hurling ties will both be televised live - the Dubs on RTÉ whereas Sky Sports have the rights to Clare/Cork, a mouthwatering repeat of the 2013 All-Ireland final and replay.

Details of a busy football qualifier weekend were also confirmed. Longford have lost home advantage for their clash with Kildare, the match switched to Mullingar this Saturday (7pm) because Pearse Park's capacity has been reduced due to ongoing work on the stand, while Meath face a daunting trip to face Tyrone in Omagh.
