IT was a short Easter weekend for movie-maker Stephen Bradley, but duty calls.

The director has set off for a tour of the US to promote his Irish hit film Noble this week. He will make pit stops in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles as he introduces it to cinema-goers.

Bradley's wife, Moone Boy actress Deirdre O'Kane, takes the lead role in the film, which tells the story of charity campaigner Christina Noble.

The movie features well-known names such as Love/Hate's Ruth Negga, Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham and Amy Huberman's brother, Mark.

It has already scooped awards at a string of festivals this year, and the couple are also set to take it to the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Bradley will look for big-budget distributors in the Le Marche Du Film, which runs alongside the famous festival next month.

"We're all over the moon that it has already taken home two awards from two different festivals – it's a great beginning for the film," Dundalk-born O'Kane told the Diary.

"What a great start to our Noble movie journey.

"I'm particularly happy for Christina as she deserves every accolade she gets."
