Dead man 'stabbed himself'

THE investigation into the death of a man following a double stabbing was ongoing today, with attention focusing on the likelihood the deceased inflicted the horror wound on himself.

Grzegorz Guzik (30) died shortly after an argument at a house on Kilbride Street in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Detectives have interviewed Mr Guzik's wife, Ewa (33), and a male friend Bartlomiej Juwa and say the two have been helpful during the investigation.

Gardai believe Mr Guzik slashed Mr Juwa (30) across the face and hands before turning the knife on himself.

He died from a single stab wound to the upper chest.

Gardai believe the death is linked to a love triangle.

Mr Guzik had only just returned to Ireland after visiting his family back in Poland.
