Westmeath's Niall O'Brien led the way with an 11-point haul (9f, 1 '65') as DIT shocked rivals UCD in their quarter-final to make the last-four for the first time in their history.

Despite that result they are slight underdogs tonight against a DCU side who also rallied late on to topple the three in-a-row chasing Mary Immaculate of Limerick with with Dublin senior Donal Burke playing a central role for the Glasnevin university.

Burke is just one of a five Dublin club hurlers who started in their quarter-final victory with Eoghan Dunne, Luke Kelly, Jonathan McGuirk junior, Fionntán MacGib and Conor Ryan all involved that evening.

St Vincent's Conor Burke also came off the bench to telling effect last time out.
