Dad-to-be stole stretch marks oil
A FATHER-to-be stole a bottle of oil from a pharmacy for his pregnant girlfriend so she could use it to prevent stretch marks, a court heard.
Ronan Byrne (20) was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for one year.
Byrne, with an address at Main Street, Donabate, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to a charge of theft.
The incident took place at Boots, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, on November 12 last year.
Garda Sergeant Maria Callaghan said that Byrne picked up a bottle of Bio Oil, above, worth €22.50, and walked out of the shop without paying for it.
The Bio Oil, which many pregnant women recommend as it prevents stretch marks, was recovered.
John O'Doherty, defending, said Byrne's girlfriend is pregnant and he took the oil for her.
