Dad accused of having knife

A FATHER of one who allegedly attacked a man and a woman while armed with a knife is facing trial.

Doger Rose (44) is facing trial assault in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.

Judge Anthony Halpin adjourned the matter for six weeks for the service of the book of evidence.

Rose, of Maple Drive in Castleknock, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with seriously assaulting a man and a woman at a house at Gazelle Village in Tyrrelstown on September 9, 2011.

Rose is also accused of producing a knife during the course of the assaults.

Trial on phone robbery charge

A TEENAGER accused of robbing another young man of his mobile phone has been remanded on continuing bail for DPP's directions.

Emmanuel Mputela (18) is alleged to have robbed a mobile phone, worth €180.

The defendant, of Corduff Park in Blanchardstown, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with robbery at Brookhaven in Corduff on January 18 last.

Judge Anthony Halpin adjourned the matter to six weeks for DPP's directions.

Teen to stand trial over rape

A TEENAGER accused of raping a woman has been sent forward for trial.

The 18-year-old is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the charge was too serious for the District Court.

The defendant appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with rape.

The alleged rape took place at a house in west Dublin on July 12 last year.

A State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the teenager, who goes forward to the next sittings of the Central Criminal Court.

Judge Anthony Halpin gave the teenager the alibi caution, warning him he had 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone he proposed calling as a witness in his defence.

Legal aid was granted.
