Crunch time for Mackay

Malky Mackay knows second-from-bottom Wigan, six points from safety, are in the midst of a defining sequence of fixtures as they prepare to host fellow Championship strugglers Charlton on tonight.

Mackay, appointed in November, enjoyed just his second win at the Latics helm when they beat Reading midweek. "We'll certainly be going for it for all 15 (remaining games) to make sure we actually pick up as many points and if (survival) comes in the last couple of weeks then I'll take it," he said.
