Crumlin celebrate genial Jimmy

THE Jimmy Boggan Memorial Cycle takes place this Saturday. It's Crumlin's biggest fund-raiser of the year.

It's a lovely way to remember the great man, who was a heartbeat of the club and Dublin hurling.

Crumlin were thrilled when St Agnes's Credit Union came on board to offer welcome sponsorship.

The cycle will begin at Jimmy's birthplace, Taghmon in Wexford and end at O'Toole Park.

"We would love to see Jim's friends in the club on Saturday night to celebrate and remember Jim's life," says Ger Gavigan.

There will be much to talk about. JB was adored. He had a nice way about him.

Everyone was comfortable in his company. All ages were delighted to be members of the Boggan family.

The cycle is over a distance of 142k. Training has been going well.

Jim carried his achievements lightly. He had a deep knowledge and love of the ash. In Crumlin, he's still regarded very much as the people's champion.
