Crumlin: Assaults and theft on the rise

Assaults rose by 58pc in Crumlin last year.
There was a total of 49 incidents causing harm reported last year, compared to 31 in 2013.
There was also an increase in minor assaults, rising from 82 to 102.
There was a rise in the number of thefts from a person and from a shop, up 15pc and 17pc respectively.
In 2014 there were 62 reported incidents of theft from a person whereas in 2013 there were 54. There were 195 thefts from shops in the Crumlin region last year and 167 the year before.
There was a drop in detections of the sale and supply of drugs with 45 incidents, compared with 122 in 2013.
