Court fight over poster of A&F male torso

THE huge semi-naked man in Dublin city centre is being brought to court as the city council gets tougher on unauthorised advertisements.

Council officials launched legal proceedings to remove the three-storey high naked torso from its perch by College Green.

The image may have sent some female pulses racing but it also excited council lawyers who believe it is an unauthorised advert. It covers the front of a building which will re-open later this year as the new Abercrombie and Fitch store.

The council claims the banner should have planning permission. The case is due before the District Court next month.
