Counsellors with vision for helping the blind in need

The service, based in South Great Georges Street and part of the charity Fighting Blindness, was granted €1,000.

"A number of years ago the charity recognised the need to provide counselling for people who were diagnosed with a blinding condition and for the parents of children diagnosed," staff member Ann Cooke said.

"We've been established for 10 years. It's a wonderful service and very much needed."
