Collins tipped for Derry job
RODDY COLLINS remains the favourite to take over as Derry City manager after the Dubliner confirmed that he will not be with Athlone Town next season.
Collins led Athlone to a Division One title and automatic promotion ahead of the 2014 season, but as his contract with the midlands side was up at the end of the season, he put himself in the market for other jobs.
Athlone responded by publicly advertising the post, stressing that Collins was still a candidate for the new season, but the former Bohemians boss has now pulled out. Collins said: "I have reluctantly decided that the most honourable course of action ... is to step aside."
