Clontarf seek new boss to lead Juniors

Niall Scully

Clontarf's Junior 'A' Adult Hurling Division 5 team are keen to do well. An ambitious and committed candidate is required to enhance their chances. Contact Tim O'Mahony on 087-2868181.

Clontarf are looking forward to welcoming Anthony Daly to their Chairman's Dinner at the end of the month.

The Dublin hurlers often train on Tarf's splendid floodlit pitches at St Anne's.

The club will be celebrating their golden jubilee next year. Big plans are on the table.

'Tarf are also organising a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of the club's only appearance in the Dublin Senior Football Championship final.

The brilliant Ballymun won that 1985 final, but that was a golden era for a class Clontarf side.

Cap fits at 'Knock

Castleknock made a big signing in the recent bad weather. Jimmy 'The Cap' Sneachta has been impressing all at 'Knock's Somerton home.

Club officials have confirmed that he's most suited to defence where he has a mean 'cold shoulder'.

Yet they feel the best is yet to come once Jimmy's excess Christmas pounds have melted away.

New players are always welcome at Castleknock. Contact Brendan on 085-1329397.

Kennedy on hand

Dublin's Eoin Kennedy collected his first title of the 2010 handball season when he defeated Westmeath's Robbie McCarthy in the final of the John Gaffney Memorial Tournament at Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon last Sunday.

Kennedy was in brilliant form over the weekend. He showed top quality to beat Wicklow's Michael Gregan in the semi-final.

Big day for brothers

IT WAS a fruitful day for the St Jude's McManamon brothers in Parnell Park on Sunday.

Kevin confirmed his worth. His strength and accuracy at the top of the left is a big asset.

Brendan came off the bench to good effect. He was buzzing for the entire second half.
