Cecil reloads for Curragh

HENRY Cecil is responsible for five of the eight new additions at the second entry stage for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on June 30.

The Newmarket trainer has added Frankel's full-brother Noble Mission, Continuum, King Of Dudes, Touch Gold and Wrotham Heath to the Classic field.

Mahmood Al Zarooni has put in the Group One Saint-Cloud winner Mandaean and Noble Mission's Yarmouth conqueror, Swedish Sailor, for Godolphin, while the other extra entry is the John Oxx-trained Call To Battle.

Harry heads the Scottish betting

Harry The Viking, co-owned by Alex Ferguson, heads the betting at 7/1 with the sponsors for the Coral Scottish Grand National.

Matt Sheppard's Ikorodu Road and Irish-trained Portrait King, who have both won their last two starts, are 10/1 joint-second favourites. Merigo, the winner in 2010 and runner-up last year, is next in the market at 12/1.

Sixty-two entries were received for the big handicap chase over an extended four miles on April 21.

Long campaign finally finished

Long Run is likely to be put away for the season after losing his Gold Cup crown at Cheltenham last month.

Trainer Nicky Henderson is set to draw stumps on the Robert Waley-Cohen-owned seven-year-old, who was third behind Synchronised in chasing's blue riband.

"I think we've really decided probably to put Long Run away for the season and start again next year," Henderson said.
