Browne 'great prospect'
GIBRALTAR defender Scott Wiseman expects Alan Browne, his Irish team-mate with League One side Preston North End, to go all the way to the senior international team.
Browne, 19, has made a huge impression at Preston since he joined them from Cork City on an 18-month deal in February.
DEBUT
The midfielder moved up a grade at international level last night when he made his debut for the Irish U21s in a friendly away to Norway.
And club-mate Wiseman, who will play for Gibraltar against Ireland in Dublin tomorrow, predicts a very bright future for the Cork lad.
"Alan Browne, here at Preston, is a real prospect. I know he is away with the Irish U21s in Norway this week and I was amazed when he didn't make the last U21 squad for Ireland last month," Wiseman says.
"I think it won't be too long before he is in the Irish senior squad, he is that good. He is a fantastic talent.
"Alan's one of the best young midfielders I have seen, he's made a massive impression here, on and off the field, since he came over from Ireland and he's a great prospect for Ireland into the future," he added.
Browne forced his way into the Preston side just weeks after his move from Cork and helped the side reach the League One playoff, where they lost to Rotherham. He has scored two goals in 13 games for Preston this season.
