Brown targets Hampden redemption

Celtic captain Scott Brown is determined to ensure a happier afternoon at Hampden Park after he settled a score with Kilmarnock last Saturday.

Celtic secured quickfire retribution for their League Cup defeat by the side last month when they beat the Ayrshire side 6-0 at Killie's Rugby Park on Saturday to clinch the title.

Now they'll bid for a more enjoyable visit to the national stadium when they face Hearts in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

"It was a hard one to take, especially us going in as favourites," Brown said. "There are no such thing as favourites going into a Cup final, anything can happen on the day, and it did.

Better

"We were a wee bit disappointed at the time and we needed to come back stronger and we have come back."

The Scotland international added: "Everyone is still on a high but we have another big game coming up on Sunday. We have got to focus and get ready for that, get back into training and be sharp."

Hearts have warmed up for Hampden with consecutive wins over Aberdeen and Dunfermline.

"They have shown on any day they are a really good team," Brown said.

"The way they have been playing as well, especially Rudi Skacel, he has been in really good form, they are always going to be a danger."
