Bronterre can rip up rivals in Dewhurst

Richard Hannon suffered a blow last week when Harbour Watch was ruled out of the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket, but he can still waltz away with the Group One prize through Bronterre.

Unbeaten in two starts, the Oasis Dream colt showed a turn of foot that only top-class horses are capable of when winning a Listed race at Goodwood last time.

It was also nice to hear that even when Harbour Watch was an intended runner, Bronterre was going to take him on.

John Quinn's Red Duke is a likeable juvenile, but nothing has gone right for him since winning the Superlative Stakes.

For the first time, the Dewhurst and the Emaar Middle Park Stakes are being run on the same day, which rules out the possibility of a smart colt winning both.

As a result, the pure speedsters are left to contest the six-furlong Middle Park, and the fastest of them all would appear to be the French raider FAMILY ONE.

Not many races have escaped the grasp of Frankie Dettori through his illustrious career but as yet one notable omission is the Betfred Cesarewitch.

He rides NEVER CAN TELL for former jump jockey Jamie Osborne in this year's renewal and, while the bookmakers do not seem to think she stands much of a chance, those closest to her certainly do.

While it has been nice to see Strong Suit bounce back to winning ways this season, closer inspection suggests he has not achieved as much as it looked at first glance.

With that in mind, it is worth taking him on with another rejuvenated character, Henry Cecil's CHACHAMAIDEE, in the Burj Khalifa Challenge Stakes.

Peter Chapple-Hyam needs a good horse, and the step up to seven furlongs should see SUNDAY TIMES win big in the Rockfel Stakes.

DUX SCHOLAR should return to winning ways in the Darley Stakes.

SADEEK'S SONG looked very smart when breaking his maiden and should handle the rise in grade in the Green Tick For Better Odds At Stakes at York.

Paul Nicholls is readying some of his better horses, and SILVINIACO CONTI is unopposable in the Bet At On Your Mobile Novices' Chase at Chepstow.

And BALLYBRIGGAN can make a winning debut in the Metrocentre Always A Winner Novices' Chase at Hexham.
