Benildus eye Cup redemption

RUNNERS-UP last year, St Benildus College, are one of four teams still to have an interest in this year's Leinster Junior Boys Cup ahead of the semi-finals.

The southsiders take on Marist College, Athlone, while in the other under-17 competition final-four tie Presentation College, Bray face Leixlip's Confey College.

The quartet are all looking to follow in the footsteps of already-eliminated Ratoath College, who produced a dramatic second-half turnaround in last year's final to pip Benildus.

The Saints have been in tremendous form this season as they look for redemption and came through their toughest test yet in the quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over De La Salle College, Dundalk.

Neighbours down the road in Wicklow, Presentation were more convincing with a 5-0 victory over Coláiste Craobh Abhann in the last-eight.

Traditionally a rugby school, Presentation are just one win away from their first Leinster final in only their third year competing at this level in football.
