Battle of clubs begins ... and Krystle's ahead of Pink with the celebs

IT WAS the first weekend of the new order. But who was going to win the battle of the clubs, new kid on the block Pink or celeb favourite Krystle?

It appears that for celebrity count alone Krystle came out top for the big rugby weekend.

Calum Best partied alongside members of the Irish and All Blacks teams in the Harcourt venue.

They were joined by some of the international referees, Kathryn Thomas, Rosanna Davison and squeeze Wesley Quirke, Dragon Niall O'Farrell, RTE's Des Cahill and models Julie Kavanagh, Michelle McGrath, Kerri Ingram.

Also spotted enjoying the night in Krystle were Stephen Atkinson and RTE and Herald rugby pundit Brent Pope.

Over at Pink, Robbie Fox was also welcoming members of the rugby teams to his new Dawson Street party central.

Earlier celeb playboys Calum Best and Jamie Archer partied up a storm in the capital over the weekend. Legendary ladies' man Calum was back on Irish shores to promote his new fragrance.

The 29-year-old son of the late footballer George Best made sure his visit wasn't all business as he caused a stir in two of the city's hotspots.

Proving his charming skills are still top notch, he was a huge hit with females in the Grafton Lounge, which recently hosted a VIP party for Damon Albarn's band Gorillaz.

A Diary mole revealed: "Calum and his pals lapped up the attention from female fans and happily posed for photos too. He really seemed to be enjoying his night."

The former Celebrity Love Island star later moved on to the private section of Buck Whaley's on Leeson Street, where according to insiders he wasted no time seeking out his ex-flame Jodie Wood. The couple called time on their brief romance just last month, but it seems Calum is still pining after the stunning brunette hostess.

A friend close to the leggy model told the Diary: "We thought it was all over between them because Jodie got tired of him flirting with other women, but he was definitely trying to woo her again. I doubt it will turn into anything serious. Jodie doesn't think she can trust him to be faithful but he's a lot of fun and they have great chemistry."

Calum is well known for his success with gorgeous women and has previously dated high profile stars including Lindsay Lohan and Sarah Harding.

There were plenty of other top models on hand to catch the lothario's eye in Bucks including best friends Nadia Forde and Georgia Salpa, who were enjoying a rare night out to celebrate Asset's booker Sarah Gogan's birthday.

Rugby players Isaac Boss, Fergus McFadden and Dave Kearney, and the All Blacks team were also soaking up the atmosphere in the VIP section.

Over in Gypsy Rose in Temple Bar, former X Factor star Jamie Archer was the centre of attention despite the presence of Hollywood actor Rhys Ifans and Dirty Sanchez frontman Matthew Pritchard. Archer later moved on to Vanilla in Donnybrook for the official Xpose Xmas Xperience party, where he was celebrating with pals following his hugely successful performances at the event in the RDS.

Fans stormed the stage as the big-haired crooner (35) belted out a string of well known rock hits including Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer.

And a very single Jamie laughed off reports that he had beddded more than 2,000 women in the last six months, simply saying he was too busy for a full-time girlfriend.
