Bare cheek! What Alex (6) said to Harry...

Tony Jones

A LITTLE boy who threatened to embarrass Prince Harry over his naked romp in a Las Vegas hotel was kept in check by a little finger-wagging from the royal.

Alex Logan appeared poised to broach the topic of the royal's embarrassing pictures when the two met at an awards ceremony celebrating seriously ill youngsters and the doctors and nurses who care for them.

Clothes

When the six-year-old was interviewed by ITV News at lunchtime he was asked what he would say to the royal and replied: "I'm glad you've got your clothes on Prince Harry".

But the prince left the little boy in no doubt the incident was off limits, crouching down to his level and telling him not to talk about it as he shook his finger at him and smiled.

Harry gave a speech at the end of the night praising the award winners but found himself inadvertently making a veiled comment about his recent naked exploits. He drew polite laughs from the audience of youngsters and their families, friends and medical carers when he told them it would be difficult to describe their achievements with words: "But never one to be shy in coming forward, I'll give it a go." When Harry realised what he had said he giggled and the guests erupted with applause and cheers.

Debbie Logan (39), from Lincoln, the mother of six-year-old Alex who received the Inspirational Child award for boys aged three to six, described the encounter between her son and the prince.

She said: "Harry said to Alex, 'I heard you were on ITV earlier, you said something cheeky, let's not talk about that here'."
