BALLYMUN KICKHAMS
WHILE most people are enjoying their summer holidays, our heroes of the week this week were busy, beavering away. They are the parents and friends of the under 15 team, who ran a car wash and cake sale on Saturday to raise funds for the team, and a great success it was too. Well done to the management and all their helpers, this preceded our lads playing a very competitive challenge game against Kilmacud, before the senior game. This team has one of the finest support networks in the club, and the management and players are very appreciative… Therefore, they are all our heroes of the week. Take a collective bow, you lot. It was a great weekend for all our adult teams with the seniors cruising to huge victory over Parnells, and our inters and juniors continuing the excellent league form with hard fought wins over Parnells and Lucan to keep the table tops red and green in all 3 leagues. Well done all our adult players and management, first time in living memory, that all our teams are top of their respective leagues. The summer camp this week on Tues-Wed-Thurs is for both boys and girls, and is on from 10am to 1pm, if you wish your child (from 4 to 13) to take part, or for more info, please contact Shane our GPO on 0861608672. For more info on this news update, or for any club gossip, please visit our website www.ballymunkickhams.com or our facebook page or twitter feed @BallymunGAA.

Well done also to the Dublin Minor footballers who had a big win against Offaly in the Leinster Semi-Final with Crokes lads Francis O'Reilly and Andrew McGowan. The Minor B footballers' last home league game has, mercifully, been postponed to Wednesday July 23 from the morning after the Gerry Collins Trophy. An important league point away to Ballyfermott for the AFL7 team. Scoring 1-17, the concession of four goals lead to the draw. Tight again on Sunday, coming back form 0-3 to 1-8 half time deficit to St Margarets, they just failed to find the 2 points to draw the game. Conor Lyndon going close to a winning goal and evergreen "Duxie" showing he still has a lot to offer to a young team. AFL8 footballers had a comprehensive league win over Liffey Gaels in Silverpark only days after a hard fought victory over Scoil n the Championship, reversing the league result and pulling away to an eight point victory. IT WAS a busy week of fixtures for the Club, with the highlight being a great win for the Intermediate footballers on Saturday evening versus Clanna Gael/Fontenoy. Our minor hurlers played with a weakened side in the league semi-final versus Rialto Gaels. Unfortunately Rialto proved too strong despite a valiant effort from all the lads. Our Under 12 boys had a great night on Wednesday, playing in a hurling camáint. Drawn in a tough group against three teams in higher divisions and short on numbers with no subs, the odds were against them. Undeterred, the team battled on with two superb wins and a hard fought draw, to top the group. The coming week contains an important hurling fixture for our adult team. They play Clontarf on Wednesday night in the championship, in what is a 'must win' fixture. The match throws in at 7.30pm in Ridgewood and the team would really appreciate a big turnout from supporters. Summer camps can be booked on-line through our homepage www.stfinians.com or by dropping into the Club Office. Tickets for the Leinster Senior Football Final can be collected on Thursday evening. Strictly Peregrines took place on Saturdaynight and between the 700+ guests we had at the event in Westmanstown, the 200+ watching the live feed back in the clubhouse and all the family & friends who tuned in around the world the event was a huge success. Congratulations to all 32 dancers who devoted so much of their time over the past few months learning their dances and fundraising for our club. The winners on the night were Dessie Molloy & Megan O'Sullivan. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible - the Strictly Committee, the staff in Westmanstown & St Peregrines, all the volunteers who helped getting the club looking so well for the night & to all those who helped out on the night. Inter Hurlers play at home to Fingallians at 7.30pm on Wednesday and away on Saturday at 6.30 to St Sylvesters in the league. Junior Hurlers play away to Castleknock at7.15pm on Thursday. ST SYLVESTER'S
BRAIN power needed. The senior footballers - who are going very well in AFL1 - have organised a table quiz fundraiser in the clubhouse for this coming Saturday evening. We would appeal to members to support this event as this team show tremendous dedication and fly the flag for the club at the highest level and remain very much in the hunt for both league and championship honours. It is also a great opportunity to get to meet and to know the players. The quiz (table of four) takes place at 8.30 in the club on Saturday. The senior hurlers have two big home matches this week and deserve your support: there is a SHC B encounter with Round Towers, Clondalkin in Broomfield on Wednesday evening (7.30pm) and an AHL3 league game against St Peregrine's on Saturday (6.30pm). Congratulations to Dublin ladies who confirmed their dominance in Leinster with a provincial final win over Laois and well done to the St Sylvester's contingent on their contributions. Well done to the two men's junior football teams who had good wins in their respective Championships. Application forms for the club's summer camps are available on the website - www.stsylvesters.ie - with a comprehensive programme for juveniles, boys and girls, for the summer months. These camps are open to members and non-members.

IT WAS another excellent week for the Intermediates who continued their winning league form with two wins one home and one away. Their next league outing is on Saturday week the 26th July at home to St Sylvester's.
