Baby joy for Doyle this Christmas
IRISH football star Kevin Doyle is expecting a special Christmas present this festive season when his wife gives birth to the couple's first child.
The Wolves striker's wife Jennifer is due to go into labour on Christmas Day.
It will be the first child for the 28-year-old and his wife who got married two years ago in Limerick.
And Irish international Doyle is hoping to take advantage of his team's home draws over the festive period as he wants to be by his wife's side.
Teenage sweethearts Kevin, who hails from Killurin, and Jenny, from Wellingtonbridge, both in Co Wexford, now live in Birmingham to be close to his club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He says he finds it tough to be away from his family at Christmas and is looking forward this year to being close by this time around.
"I'm lucky this year because we have two home matches in Molineux on December 26 and 29. We're playing at home, so I'll be home with my wife, who is due on Christmas Day this year," Kevin explained.
And all Doyle wants for Christmas is a healthy addition to their family, adding: "A happy, healthy baby. I'll take that."
Although Kevin is based in England, the pair have a secluded multi-million euro mansion in Wexford.
