THE filming of the latest series of crime drama Love/Hate was thrown a curve ball when the actress who plays Nidge's girlfriend broke her arm.

Aoibhinn McGinnity picked up the injury while performing on the Abbey Theatre's recent production of Alice In Funderland.

As a result of the incident, she was forced to opt out of the play early but still had the problem of filming for the hit crime drama.

The 25-year-old actress explains: "It was a bigger break than I thought to be honest, I had to hide it while filming Love/Hate.

"Alice in Funderland was so physical so I couldn't get back to it after that happened. You couldn't be dancing around on stage with it."

After seven weeks of pain, she's finally on the mend.

And Aoibhinn insists that the third season of the show will be just as good without award-winning star Aidan Gillen.

Monaghan native Aoibhinn said that fans will be equally as impressed with upcoming season and that the entire cast is "stepping up" to the mark.
